Position: Communications Coordinator
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time, Six-month – renewable based on performance and funding availability.

Role Summary
The Communications Coordinator is a cross-cutting leadership role responsible for guiding and implementing NFM’s entire communication strategy. This position ensures consistent, political, feminist-aligned messaging across programs and builds strong visibility for NFM’s advocacy, research, and community support work.
You will lead communication planning, campaigns, narrative strategy, and public messaging—while collaborating with program coordinators, designers, and the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communication Leadership
– Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of NFM’s institutional communication strategy.
– Ensure all messaging aligns with NFM’s feminist values, political positions, and content guidelines.
– Translate organizational work (research, documentation, healing, emergency support) into powerful and accessible communication materials.
2. Campaigns & Content Development
– Lead the full cycle of communication campaigns—from idea generation to message framing, production, publication, and evaluation.
– Oversee production of posts, videos, visuals, and advocacy materials.
– Ensure accurate adaptation of research findings for public audiences.
3. Team Leadership & Coordination
– Supervise and mentor communication assistants and interns.
– Coordinate with Program Coordinators across units to ensure cohesive communication.
– Manage relationships and collaborations with external feminist, queer, and Black collectives.
4. Review, Approval & Crisis Communication
– Review and approve all content before publication.
– Prepare sensitive or political content for ED review.
– Lead responses to online risks, harassment, and misinformation.
5. Monitoring & Reporting
– Oversee analytics, engagement tracking, and monthly communication reports.
– Conduct campaign debriefs with the team.
Required Qualifications
– 3–5+ years’ experience in communications, media, digital advocacy, or related fields.
– Strong understanding of feminist and queer movements, especially African/Sudanese contexts.
– Proven experience designing, running, and evaluating communication campaigns.
– Excellent writing skills in Arabic and English.
– Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital storytelling.
– Ability to work within political, feminist, trauma-informed frameworks.
– Experience collaborating with designers, content creators, or advocacy teams.
