Position: Social Media & Creative Content Specialist
Duration: 6 months
Location: Hybrid / Cairo, Egypt or Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting to: Media Unit – Noon Feminist Movement Management (NFM)
Background
Noon Feminist Movement (NFM) is a Sudanese nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for women’s rights and marginalized communities. The organization documents the Sudanese feminist movement and is committed to feminist advocacy and the production of Sudanese feminist knowledge. NFM aims to produce media content that raises awareness about feminist issues, promotes human rights discourse, and provides a platform for marginalized voices.
As part of its media initiatives and to ensure a strong digital presence, NFM is seeking to hire a Social Media & Creative Content Specialist to manage and develop content strategies, increase audience engagement, and analyze media campaign performance to ensure the organization’s objectives are met. This role combines managing social media strategies with creating engaging, research-based digital content and managing NFM’s digital platforms.
Purpose of the Role
The Social Media & Creative Content Specialist will be responsible for managing all Noon Feminist Movement’s digital platforms, including: (Facebook – Twitter (X) – Instagram – LinkedIn – YouTube – NFM Website).
The primary objective is to strengthen NFM’s digital presence, enhance engagement with target audiences, develop high-quality content, and implement strategies to increase engagement and feminist digital impact, ensuring content consistency with NFM’s feminist vision.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy Development & Audience Engagement: –
Design and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with NFM’s media objectives.
Develop and execute strategies to boost engagement and reach on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok.
Stay updated on the latest trends in digital media and feminist discussions to incorporate them into content development.
Plan effective and engaging digital campaigns to expand reach and audience interaction.
Manage the content publishing schedule across all platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual style.
Monitor and analyze performance data to optimize social media strategies.
Content Production & Digital Storytelling: –
Develop multimedia content for NFM’s digital platforms, including social media, website, and visual projects.
Draft compelling scripts and scenarios aligned with NFM’s messaging.
Simplify research findings and developed knowledge content, transforming it into accessible, engaging material.
Adapt content into various formats such as infographics, short videos, articles, and podcast scripts.
Content Quality Management & Coordination: –
Supervise the production and publishing of content, including articles, videos, infographics, and podcasts.
Collaborate with the research and media teams to ensure content is accurate, analytical, and engaging.
Ensure all published materials align with NFM’s feminist principles and editorial standards.
Review content for accuracy, clarity, and relevance to the target audience.
Ensure all content complies with NFM’s values and fosters dialogue around women’s issues and gender equality.
Stay updated on regional and global feminist discussions to ensure content relevance.
Performance Analysis & Audience Interaction: –
Monitor and analyze social media performance using digital analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics).
Prepare monthly performance reports highlighting strengths, challenges, and suggested improvements.
Interact with audiences, respond to comments/messages, and encourage community discussions.
Campaign Management & Promotion: –
Develop and implement awareness and promotional digital campaigns on various feminist and humanitarian issues.
Collaborate with influencers and feminist activists to broaden content reach.
Media Team Coordination & Supervision: –
Work closely with researchers, writers, and designers to ensure content consistency.
Coordinate with graphic designers to produce visually appealing materials aligned with NFM’s vision.
Participate in regular team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and editorial planning.
Provide guidance and training to team members on social media best practices.
Expected Deliverables and Timeline
A clear digital strategy plan that strengthens NFM’s social media presence.
Monthly content publishing schedule covering key topics.
Maintain active presence across social media platforms through regular content posting.
Monthly performance analysis report identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and execute digital campaigns to increase engagement and impact across NFM’s platforms.
Increase engagement metrics across all platforms.
Produce (4) engaging short videos monthly (e.g., Reels, explainer videos, social storytelling).
Produce (8) social media posts monthly based on feminist research.
Produce (2) feminist and social justice-related articles/blogs monthly.
Produce (2) infographic and visual explanatory designs monthly.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic degree in Media, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in social media management, content production, digital storytelling, or journalism, preferably in nonprofit or media organizations.
Familiarity with the latest social media trends, audience engagement strategies, digital analytics tools, and campaign management.
Excellent research, writing, and editorial skills, especially in the context of feminism and social justice, with the ability to produce engaging content.
Ability to produce multimedia content such as videos, infographics, and animations.
Strong understanding of feminist issues, gender justice, and the socio-political context in Sudan.
Ability to work within a feminist and intersectional framework and in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, speaking).
